Yoga play, what is it?Yoga play is play and games through which the children practice yoga, turn taking, concentration and getting calm.
Why Yoga play?
We want out children to have fun, laugh, interact, and connect with their peers and adults. Nowadays it is getting harder and harder to have uninterrupted interactions and present moments. This really effects children’s concentration, learning and self-regulation skills. In addition, children are so used to having things quickly, waiting and patience are not always practiced. During yoga play we make sure that the adult and the child are present, interacting, playing, and laughing. After only a couple of sessions the children can show how capable they are of waiting, focusing, calming, and cooperating kindly and mindfully.
What do the children gain?
The children get pure play, laugh, present moments and healthy interactions. They are appreciated, seen and heard, which boosts their self-confidence. They also learn to calm down, take turns, wait, concentrate and being mindful and kind.
