A Cornish early childhood

Six of our staff team from across our nursery settings had a incredible opportunity to go to

Cornwall for a two-day immersive training course with Cornish Early Childhood, naturally

learning and the lost gardens of Heligan. This training mainly focused on outdoor learning

and sustainability, bringing nature into the curriculum and ensuring children are getting the

best start in life with nature at the heart of all we do. Celebrating where our children come

from and their community they live in. All our staff got to join in with creative workshops

including woodwork, potion making, mud kitchens, storytelling, foraging with children to

name just a few. We had inspiring key speakers on sustainability and environments which we

learnt a lot from. After spending the day learning in the beautiful grounds of Heligan we were

able to visit the naturally learning nursery in Charles town. This visit gave us the opportunity

to engage in reflective shared best practice with like-minded nursery practitioners and

leaders, we also had a tour of their incredible beach and forest school provision. We were so

inspired and came back with many new ideas to share back at the learning tree. We are very

lucky we get to enjoy this type of CPD experiences with the company.
